Summer 2015 Fishing Report

We’ve been very busy this summer running fishing trips of all kinds. Overall the fishing in Myrtle Beach has been very good as we are targeting tarpon, redfish, flounder, and sharks for the kids.

Ive been very impressed with the number of flounder that we’ve been catching. The flounder fishing really started getting good in May and it hasn’t let up one bit. We are catching flounder using a variety of techniques but the most effective has been casting live minnows on a jig head into likely flounder feeding areas.

Tarpon started showing up in good numbers a little later than usual but by the middle part of July the tarpon fishing really kicked into high gear.

Redfish continue to be productive in shallow water despite the warm waters temps. Sight-fishing to feeding redfish using a variety of soft plastics and top water lures has been most effective. We’ve also experience some excellent tailing tides which are ideal for fly fisherman looking to target redfish in the summer months.
