Nearshore Fishing Charters in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
- Where do you fish?
Nearly all of our nearshore fishing trips depart from The Georgetown Landing Marina in Georgetown South Carolina. The fishing grounds are 10-20 miles offshore, roughly an hour boat ride from the Marina. There are numerous artificial reefs located along the coast of South Carolina that are easily accessible by smaller boats under calm conditions but ultimately the weather will dictate how far we go out.
- When is the best time for Nearshore fishing?
Fishing on the nearshore reefs is productive all year long, however the Spring and Summer months are generally more favorable as multiple species of fish move into these areas.
- Experience Needed?
No experience is needed on the nearshore fishing trips, however if anyone is prone to motion sickness, it is recommended to take medicine as a precaution or consider an Inshore Fishing trip where you’re guaranteed to fish calm water.
- What type of fish will we target?
The best thing about nearshore fishing is that we can expect to encounter multiple species of fish. False Albacore, King Mackerel, Amberjacks, Barracuda, Sharks, and Cobia are common on the reefs. Other bottom fish like flounder, sea bass, grey trout, trigger fish and grouper are also very common on these trips.
- How long are the trips and how much do they cost?
Since we have a longer run to the fishing grounds, a 6hr-8hr trip is recommended. Please see our rates page for pricing and other details.
