Sharks are very common along the South Carolina coast during the warmer months(April-October). Shark species common to the Myrtle Beach area include Black Tips, Sandbar Sharks, Bonnetheads, Lemon Sharks, and Bull Sharks. Most of the sharks we target average 20-50lbs however it is not uncommon to catch larger sharks over 100lbs.

We use light to heavy tackle for these incredible fighting fish which don’t require much experience to land. We target sharks along the inlets, jetties, and bays where schools of baitfish tend to congregate. We will occasionally venture out into the ocean to target sharks however a lot of the areas we fish are in calm water so no worries of passengers getting sea sick.

We use a variation of baits including cut menhaden, mullet, and bluefish. Bottom rigs with wire leader and circle hooks are reliable rigs when fishing for sharks. Your captain will handle the shark beside the boat and will do our best to get a picture for you. All sharks that we catch are released to fight another day.
