Summer Fishing Report

Sorry for the lack of reports the last couple of months, things have been very busy. Quick update for now… as July comes to a close, the fishing has been fantastic behind the Full Moon last week. Redfish are starting to do their thing in shallow water, particularly before the mid-day heat sets in. Flounder fishing has been fantastic on artificial lures but live bait is tough to beat when targeting flounder. Speckled trout have really turned on here the last few days and most fish are averaging 2-3lbs. Plenty of Black Drum around, although many are measuring right around the minimum size limit of 14in… still good fun on light tackle. Im seeing more and more tarpon as the days drag on and I get the sense that the tarpon fishing should start popping any day now. Perhaps some of the most exciting fishing that Ive been doing the last few weeks is sight-fishing black tip sharks along the beaches. We are catching them on fly gear, as well as lures and live bait. Lots of fishing options in the Myrtle Beach area at the moment and the fishing will only get better as cooler weather is just around the corner. I still have a few days open in August so if you are looking for a fun filled fishing charter, please contact me.
